I wrote these notes to my son just in case we grow apart like most parents and their children do. On second thought, I'm not going to let that happen. - The Author
Antonio, a classmate of mine from college is a car fiend. He used to own a honda civic and a saturn aura when we were still studying. He even borrows his brother’s toyota venza during our out of town trips because he doesn’t want his cars to be soiled in rough roads. Ironically, he races both of his cars with our other friends during the weekends, just for fun.
It’s not an exaggeration when I say that he loves his cars more than his girlfriend. He spends most of his extra money on beautifying and maintaining his cars rather than spending it on a romantic date somewhere with her.
It’s a good thing that his girlfriend’s father is also a car enthusiast. The three of them actually go to car shows together. They are also members of a local club for car owners. This is probably why his girlfriend has been very understanding all throughout.
Antonio dreams of owning an audi convertible in the near future so he saves most of his money to buy one. He doesn’t want to ask his parents to buy him a new car because he already has a stable job in one of the engineering firms back home.
I never really understood Antonio’s obsession about cars, knowing how much he spends on the latest car accessories that hit the market. Well what do I know? If it makes him happy then he should continue with what he’s doing no matter what other people say.
